Description

You’re on the LIQUID PORCELAIN ENAMEL (LPE) page
Direct-to-surface performance means prep discipline decides the outcome.
PRO TIP — DIRECT-TO-SURFACE DISCIPLINE
LPE bonds direct-to-surface. Your prep must be PERFECT.
IF YOU’RE SPRAYING DIRECT TO SURFACE
With no primer/bonding agent buffering mistakes, the surface controls the outcome.
1) CLEAN
2) DRY
3) DULL

SWAT — FINAL WIPE (RECOMMENDED)
We strongly recommend using SWAT as the Final Wipe before LPE. It’s engineered to remove contamination that common “solvent wipes” leave behind so you start on a clean, dry, and dull, bond-ready surface.
Do not sand over residue. If you grind contamination into the surface, you’re locking in defects.

WHAT YOU’RE BUYING
  • Complete 3-Component System (Part A + Part B + Reducer)
  • VALUE PACK includes a full gallon of reducer
  • Porcelain-like depth of gloss customers recognizes instantly.
MANUFACTURED for DIRECT to surface perforamce
Controlled Production.
Built as a pro standard for consistent weekly refinishing schedules.
PRO BUYING NOTE
Most weekly pros stock 2 kits per cycle to maintain workflow continuity and color consistency.
Produced in controlled batches.
Pro rule: Keep it clean, keep it dull, mix it right.
What “Immersion Service” Means
Immersion service coatings are built to handle constant or prolonged water exposure. Unlike splash-zone coatings, immersion-rated systems maintain durability, adhesion, and appearance even when water exposure is continuous.
1) Superior Durability
Resists weakening, blistering, and failure from prolonged water exposure.
2) Enhanced Adhesion
Designed to stay locked onto hard surfaces under harsh conditions.
3) Chemical Resistance
Built to hold up against cleaners and common chemical exposures.
Anti-Sag Technology
Loaded with anti-sag control so you can spray a generous film build without living in fear of runs. This reduces the learning curve for newer techs and improves consistency for busy weekly pros.
Pro benefit: fewer callbacks, more repeatable results.
Direct-to-Surface
Engineered to adhere directly to a clean, dry, and dull surface — eliminating extra components. That means less inventory, less shipping cost, and faster production.
Cost saver: Reduce material stack (no epoxy primer shipping).
Built for Mobile Pros: Fewer Components • Less Odor • Faster Setups
Designed for real-world refinishing logistics.
Portability + Low Odor
  • Fewer components
  • Lower odor than typical 2K urethanes
  • Better for occupied apartments and commercial environments
ISO-FREE + Acetone-Thinnable
  • No isocyanates
  • Can be reduced with acetone (VOC-exempt)
  • Optional custom reducer available for tuning
Unrivaled Depth of Gloss (The “Porcelain Look”)
LPE is famous for depth of gloss — not just surface shine. That’s why finished tubs look rich, deep, and porcelain-like.
Challenge: Find a deeper porcelain look. We’ll wait.
Primary Uses
  • Bathtub refinishing / reglazing / resurfacing
  • Ceramic tile walls and ceilings
  • Porcelain tubs and fixtures
  • Fiberglass surfaces
Immersion-Service Uses
  • Swimming pools
  • Baptismals
  • Concrete and water-exposed surfaces
Note: Proper prep, cure, and professional application practices are required for full performance.
Why Pros Keep LPE on the Truck

Liquid Porcelain Enamel — The Porcelain Look Pros Get Paid For
IMPORTANT: Mixing Precision + No Epoxy Primer Under LPE
LPE is engineered as a direct-to-surface system. Keep it clean, keep it dull, and mix it right.
Mix Precisely — No “Eyeballing”
  • Measure every batch for consistent cure, flow, and durability.
  • Use graduated cups or a scale.
  • Small mix errors create big problems: cure shifts, gloss shifts, weakness.
Pro rule: If you can’t repeat the mix, you can’t repeat the finish.
No Epoxy Primer Under LPE
  • LPE is direct-to-surface. Do NOT apply epoxy primer underneath.
  • Power Bond Wipe-On Primer is acceptable when coupling is needed — but avoid using it as a “primer coat”.
  • NOREAC is NOT to be used under LPE.
Why: Epoxy primers (and NOREAC) can create a yellowish cast in whites and light colors.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Color / Bleed-Through Warning
Both LPE and many epoxy primers use colored catalysts that carry an amber hue. Stacking LPE over epoxy can create a yellowish cast in whites/bone/light colors. For the cleanest porcelain look, keep LPE direct-to-surface: clean, dry, and dull.
Power Bond Wipe-On Primer
Use Only Power Bond Wipe-On Primer under LPE if you want extra insurance.
Liquid Porcelain Enamel — Mixing Instructions
Precision mixing is mandatory for proper cure, flow, and long-term performance.
Exact Mix Ratio (No Guessing)
  • 4 Parts Part A (Resin)
  • 1 Part Part B (Catalyst)
  • Mix thoroughly until fully uniform before reducing.
Rule: Measure every batch — no eyeballing.
Typical Tub Coverage
  • Minimum for a standard tub:
  • 12 oz Part A (Resin)
  • 3 oz Part B (Catalyst)
  • Adjust upward for larger tubs or heavier film builds.
Reduce - Thinning Selection & Equipment Considerations
Reducer amount depends on temperature, air movement, and spray equipment.
  • 2–3 stage turbines typically require more reducer.
  • 5–6 stage turbines require less due to higher output and better atomization.
  • Always spray a test panel when conditions or equipment change.
THE LPE LOW-ODOR FINISHING COMBO
LPE is already lower odor than many professional coatings. If you want to push odor suppression further for occupied spaces: Use
 ACETONE + ScentraLock™ together
What this combo does:
• Helps create a noticeably cleaner jobsite experience during application + early cure
• Reduces “lingering smell” complaints that cost time and reputation
• Gives you a simple, repeatable system you can explain to customers with confidence
Acetone
ACETONE
• Fast-flashing wipe that helps leave surfaces dry and ready
• Helps reduce odor carry-over by removing leftover moisture/residue
• Clean, predictable, a “no drama” step indoors
ScentraLock Odor Eliminator – Performance Enhancer
SCENTRALOCK™
• Odor suppression additive for dramatically reduced jobsite smell
• Helps keep jobs smoother: fewer complaints during cure
• Built for sensitive environments: apartments, hotels, occupied homes
THIS IS HOW PROS AVOID ODOR COMPLAINTS
If you’re charging professional money, don’t leave odor control to luck. Acetone + ScentraLock™ helps keep jobs smoother, customers happier, and your phone quieter.
Note: Odor perception varies by ventilation, temperature, film build, and jobsite conditions. Always use proper PPE and airflow.

Best all around product. Very durable and beautiful with ease of application. Only downside is it is a very sensitive product. Will fisheye if prep is not perfect. But I highly recommend.

    My #1 choice

Posted by JOHNNY YARBROUGH on Mar 11th 2025

Depth of gloss is out of this world, on a very clean, dull surface it bonds and mimics porcelain like nothing else I have used in my 32 years in business! I ordered my first batch as soon as it came out and I always make sure it is on my truck. I use it daily, I once had to sand it around the drain because of a drip that was never repaired from the down spout. I had to use 80 grit on an orbital sander to get through it. Lays very smooth, looks like factory baked porcelain and the durability is the best in the Industry!

    LPE

I’ve been using LPE since just after it came out. I can’t say enough good about it. Easy to spray, adhesion is insane, and so is the gloss.

Great product, I’ve used many other tub coatings over the last 13 years. This is the best product I’ve used.
