Description

SWAT Solvent Wipe All Traces

Final-step solvent wipe for professional surface prep — designed to remove what “standard solvent wipes” leave behind.

Silicone Digester
Moisture Scavenger
Residue-Free Prep

Why SWAT Exists

Most “solvent wipes” move dirt around. SWAT is built to pull contaminants out and help create a dry, bond-ready substrate before sanding, silanes, primers, or topcoats.

Performance Highlights

  • Removes hidden residues standard wipes commonly leave behind
  • Attacks silicone oils, waxes, polishes, and “mystery grime”
  • Kinetic drying action helps pull moisture from porous areas & grout lines
  • Cleaner sanding — reduces grinding contaminants into the surface

What It Prevents

  • Fisheyes & repellency from silicone residue
  • Blushing / haze from trapped moisture and contaminants
  • Adhesion failures caused by poor wetting
  • “Looks good today / fails later” callbacks

Where Pros Use It

  • Bathtubs, tile walls, soap dishes & silicone cut-lines
  • Countertops (porcelain, ceramic, composites)
  • Cabinets & greasy kitchens (pre-mask / pre-primer)
  • Fiberglass, cultured marble, ABS & other composites

Results You Can See

  • Often shows up on the rag as “extra” contamination after standard wiping
  • Helps coatings and primers wet out more consistently
  • Supports stronger bonding performance for silanes and primers

How SWAT Stacks Up: A Side-by-Side Comparison
For the “Final Wipe” step — designed to leave a clean, dry, bond-ready surface.
Solvent Cleaning Power Moisture Scavenging Residue-Free Performance Substrate Compatibility Dwell Time / Penetration Silicone, Soap Scum, Wax
SWAT High Excellent Yes – Leaves zero residue Broad – Tailored for refinishing Optimized for deep penetration and controlled evaporation Excellent – Dissolves all contaminants
Acetone Moderate Poor No – Can leave contaminants Limited – Not ideal for porous surfaces Dries too fast, locking moisture in Poor – Not effective on stubborn residues
Denatured Alcohol Moderate Poor No – Leaves residues behind Limited – Can be harsh on some substrates Evaporates rapidly with insufficient cleaning time Poor – Leaves residues behind
MEK High Poor Moderate – May leave trace residues Moderate – Caution on delicate surfaces Fast evaporation can compromise deep cleaning Moderate – Partial removal
Toluene Moderate Poor No – Residues remain Limited – Can affect finish quality Does not provide adequate dwell time for penetration Poor – Not effective on stubborn residues
Lacquer Thinner Moderate Poor No – Often leaves glycol ether residues Limited – Not recommended for moisture-prone surfaces Inadequate penetration due to fast evaporation Poor – Leaves glycol residues
Xylene Moderate Poor No – Ineffective residue removal Limited – Not versatile for refinishing Fails to address hidden moisture Poor – Not effective on stubborn residues
Note: This comparison is focused on the final wipe step prior to sanding/silanes/primers/topcoats. Always follow product labels/SDS and local safety requirements.

Simple Professional Use

  1. Cut / remove heavy silicone first where applicable.
  2. Apply SWAT (spray or saturated rag). Wipe in one direction.
  3. Flip to a clean side of the rag often — don’t re-deposit contamination.
  4. Let surface flash off to a clean, dry feel.
  5. Proceed with sanding / silane wipe / primer per your system.
Pro Tip: If you sand over residue, you grind contamination into the surface. SWAT is designed to help prevent that. Always, Clean and degrease before sanding.

Choose SWAT for a Clean, Dry, Bond-Ready Substrate

Not a gimmick. A true surface-prep advantage — built for professional refinishers who want fewer problems and stronger bonds.

    Swat

I’ve used many different products to remove adhesives and silicone. Everything from M.E.K, Goof Off, and lacquer thinner, to rubbing alcohol and mineral spirits. Everything I could find. Nothing compares to swat. I love using it for my final wipe down before spraying because I know it’s going to work. Highly recommend this product.

    SWAT

Received my sample of swat this morning. Went to a vacant job I had lined up the soap residue melted off and not only cleaned away with ease but was so clean it squeaked after I let dry for about 6 minutes. This tub was fiberglass had been refinished before. The customer just wanted a refinish No stripping. Did not flash the feathered edges up. I ran a small amount around the tile and my tape stuck extremely good when I masked the tub off. Great product! A little goes a long way.

    SWAT

As a professional in bathtub refinishing, I rely on high-quality products to ensure a flawless finish, and SWAT Solvent Wipe has become an essential part of my process. This slow-evaporating solvent is highly effective at removing tough residues, including silicone, oils, dirt, and grease, which can interfere with adhesion and final results. What sets SWAT apart is its controlled evaporation rate, giving me enough working time to thoroughly clean surfaces without it flashing off too quickly. Unlike some harsher solvents, it doesn’t leave behind a chalky or streaky residue, which is crucial for a smooth, professional-grade refinish. I also appreciate that it’s powerful without being overly aggressive on most surfaces, making it a reliable choice for prepping tubs, tile, and other refinishing projects. If you're in the refinishing business and need a dependable cleaner for surface prep, SWAT is a must-have in your toolkit. Highly recommended!
